Ongoing Project 2013-Present: Pharmacokinetics of 2,4-thiazolidinedione in dairy goats

The aim of the project is to determine the pharmacokinetics of the 2,4-thiazolidinedione in dairy goats.

Goats used for the the present experiment were the one enrolled in the experiment described in Rosa et a., 2017 . Goats received either a jugular injection or a oral administration via drenching of 8 mg/kg of body weight of 2,4-thiazolidione in 10 mL sterile saline or saline alone. Blood was collected in several time points after the adminitration of the drug (see experimental design figure). Milk and adipose tissue were collected. 2,4-thiazolidinedione is extracted and measured using HPLC.

2,4-thiazolidinedione was detectable only by using a cyano column (see attached poster)
