The aim of the project is to assess the role of milk on early bone development using piglets as model for growing children
From the experiment where we tested the role of milk on adipose stem cells we have also collected several bones from the piglets fed milk or maltodextrin to assess density via DEXA and biomechanical properties. Data so far indicated that milk does not affect any bone parameters, with the exception of a less dense bone in the mandible (see poster). Data are still generated.
